Niki  Bradley
[Writing] is my stress reliever, my after-school snack, my dreams, and my somewhat invisible friend. My only true writing goal is to publish a novel, even if there is only a hundred copies ever printed, and I own every single one.
College plans? Art Institute of Colorado, majoring in Advertising
Teacher: Raleen   Closser - Nixa High School, Nixa

Jason  Brasier
I enjoy bringing the ideas I have to life by putting them down on paper and transferring them to stories or scripts for all people to enjoy.
College plans? SMSU-West Plains for two years then transferring to a four-year school majoring in film and writing
Teacher: Judith   Emmerson - Willow Springs High School, Willow Springs

Tiffany  Burns
Beginning with my childhood, writing has always played an important role in my life. Although my vocabulary and technique have changed over the years, I still find my self bursting with that familiar childish joy after each piece I write.
College plans? Lincoln University, majoring in English and Psychology
Teacher: Minda   Branch - Blair Oaks High School, Jefferson City

Ashley  Goad
No matter where my writing will take me in the proceeding years, I’ll know that I had the opportunity, while young, to present my ideas, my words, and my thoughts in a form that holds so beauty—writing.
College plans? SMSU, undecided major
Teacher: Beverly   Zieres - Strafford High School, Strafford

Natalie  James
While my dream used to be to simply write books that contained a message of hope and strength, I have now added to the list a burning need to expose the truths of the world that need to be told, and to use the might of my pen to give voices to the voiceless.
College plans? Drury University, majoring in English
Teacher: JoAnn   Satzinger - Kickapoo High School, Springfield

Brittney  Korth
Writing freezes time. It allows you to find a way out and a place to put your feelings.
College plans? Evangel University, majoring in teaching and nursing
Teacher: Diana   Bundy - Grandview High School, Grandview

Ashley  Maher
Writing and reading the writing of others has taught me the value of the written word and its ability to connect the intellectual to the emotional in such a way that it seems as though they were one. I have seen the power of a single words and have tried to learn the art of knowing when to use it and of knowing when to withhold it.
College plans? Drury University, majoring in architecture
Teacher: Kathy   McQueen - Nixa High School, Nixa

Thaddeus  Morris
Nonetheless, I discover great pleasure in producing any form of literature that expresses my most private thought in a way that no other media can.
College plans? SMSU, majoring in radiography
Teacher: Beth   Cramer-Cummins - Lee's Summit High School, Lee's Summit

Christopher  Terrell
I have found that, if I don’t write, I literally feel like there is something missing from my life. I don’t just want to write—I have to.
College plans? University of Missouri-Columbia, majoring in journalism
Teacher: JoAnn   Bringer - Hannibal High School, Hannibal

Shannon Olivia Williams
I have not always known I was a writer. Like most other children, I imagined myself as an astronaut, a veterinarian, and the President of the United States. At some point, however, I realized that in imagining these professions I was simply looking for story ideas. Eventually, it hit me that I could actually live by doing what I love most: writing.
College plans? Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin
Teacher: Bill   Currie - Jefferson City High School, Jefferson City
